Beverley Manzar

Beverley first began her career as a Trainee Mental Welfare Officer.   She completed her formal training, obtaining the new Generic Social Work Qualification after which she practiced as a Social Worker in Essex working mainly in the field of Child Protection.  

She became a Social Work Team Manager at Hackney/Homerton Hospital where she managed a number of teams, which provided acute front line services.  Subsequently, she took over responsibility for managing the hospital’s Social Work service where she was involved in a number of interesting projects including co-writing the protocol for drug dependent pregnant women and organising the services to A&E within the winter pressures budget.  

After a short career break to be with her children, in 2004, she took up her current post of Registered Manager at Ebury Court Care Home.  She has led the home into achieving its current “outstanding” CQC rating and achieved the highest level of Beacon Status by the Gold Standards Framework for end of life care.  She has a special interest in developing services for people with dementia, in 2013, she implemented the Namaste Care Programme and has subsequently co-written a paper which was published in the American Journal of Alzheimer’s.
