Supporting adopters through cross-regulatory collaboration: CQC, HRA, NICE and MHRA

This presentation will begin by discussing the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) health technologies and how safe adoption of A.I. into the NHS can add diagnostic capacity back into the system and save lives. We will then explore the complex regulatory landscape faced by A.I. Medical Device manufacturers and provide examples of many of the challenges that Behold.ai faced as a start-up in this heavily regulated sector. These challenges include a multitude of regulatory requirements, adherence to multiple international standards, as well as some specific regulatory issues around automated decision making (autonomous A.I.). We will then explore how the new Multi-Agency Advice Service (MAAS) will be able to help innovators and start-ups going forwards.
