The Role of Place-Based Partnerships in Tackling Health Inequalities
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought into sharp focus the prevalence and impact of the long-standing health inequalities which exist across England. The pandemic also highlighted the impact and role of anchor institutions and effective place-based partnerships in driving improved health outcomes. This collaborative working at place level between the public and private sector will be critical in supporting ICSs to take a lead role in tackling health inequalities and deliver NHSEI’s ambitions to reduce inequalities in health outcomes, experience, and access.
This presentation will focus on the role of ICSs, anchor institutions, and other local partners in tackling inequalities at place level. It will also focus on the need for effective partnerships between these organisations, building upon their unique position, capability, and offer. Finally, it will focus upon the collaborative YHealth4Growth programme, outlining the links between health and the economy, and the importance of cross-sector working.
