Cultures of Quality in Healthcare: Questioning the Work for Effective Change
There is much talk about the need for cultural change when it comes to improving quality and safety in healthcare. But, what is really meant by this phrase, and is the notion of culture simplytoo nebulous to be of practical value at a local level?
In this session, Prof Murray Anderson-Wallace will set out a range of practical frameworks based on sound theoretical principles, which can help to develop meaningful cultural change at system level. He will also outline some of the myths and legends that shape practice, and challenge the accepted wisdom and ideologies that hold our current thinking in place. He will explore how the development of Integrated Care Systems can support these changes, and outline a model of practice to create value and reduce failure demand in systems.
