Using remote patient monitoring to support children with eating disorders
Working with Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Kernow Health CIC provides physical monitoring for children with a range of eating disorders. The normal care pathway includes attending clinics, however during the pandemic, an alternative approach was needed. Remote patient monitoring (RPM) was introduced using technology from Tunstall Healthcare to enable clinicians to support patients at home.
RPM remains in place as part of the care pathway, and this session will demonstrate how it has resulted in over £81,000 costs being avoided by reducing inpatient stays, Emergency Department stays, use of community clinic room and carbon emissions due to travel.
