Alison Tavaré

Clinical Lead for West of England AHSN and Regional Clinical Lead, CO@home, West of England AHSN
Alison is a GP and Primary Care clinical lead at the West of England Academic Health Science Network. She has a special interest in the prompt identification and management of the deteriorating patient and has been involved in the use of NEWS (National Early Warning Score) as a common language between primary care, out of hours, the ambulance service, and the acute trusts. With the advent of COVID this interest has broadened, and Alison has collaborated with RCGP to deliver webinars looking at the physiology of COVID-19, COVID-19 and care homes and COVID-19 and children. The work is evolving to look at pathways of care for specific groups such as pregnant women or people with a learning disability and Alison is now a Regional Clinical Lead for COVID Oximetry@home. Alongside this, Alison is the co-lead of the West of England Learning Disability Collaborative. The WELDC is a network of clinicians, carers, families and experts by experience who are working together with academics and policy makers to improve outcomes for people with a learning disability.
