Pharmacy Superintendent, Well Pharmacy
Janice Perkins is the Pharmacy Superintendent for Well Pharmacy, responsible for driving one of the key business programmes; Safe and Well. The programme looks to create a patient safety culture and encourage colleagues to Report, Share, Learn, Act and Review so that there’s a continual improvement in the quality and safety of medicines supply and pharmacy services. Leading the Pharmacy Superintendent’s Team, Janice is accountable for ensuring that regulatory and professional standards ensure the health and wellbeing of our patients and the public. A key part of the role is ensuring colleagues are clear about their role within community pharmacy and uses every opportunity to instill pride, passion and professionalism throughout the business. Janice joined Well Pharmacy in 2000 and has over 30 years’ leadership experience of in the community sector. A Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Janice also the Chairs the Community Pharmacy Patient Safety Group which comprises of the Medication Safety Officers from the 17 largest multiples and the National Pharmaceutical Association and Numark who represent independent contractors. She has also been awarded the title of Visiting Professor in Community Pharmacy by the University of Keele. On top of this Janice has been involved in a number of safety research projects working with Manchester University, Yorkshire and Humber AHSN and Nottingham University. Janice lives in West Yorkshire with her family and also enjoys playing an active role in her local community.
