Manuel Ottaviano has a M.Sc. Computer Science Engineering and a PhD in Bioengineering. He works as senior researcher in the area of digital health and wellbeing. Currently he works with the most relevant stakeholders in healthcare (research academies and institutions, industries, SMEs and start-ups, public and private institutions, associations and societies) to envision, define, deliver and assess technological solutions in the domain of digital health and wellbeing. He is lecturer of the master of Bioengineering (Clinical Engineering, Telemedicine). Manuel is expert in the design, development, and validation of solutions to help patients and health professional to foster disease management, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing using technology. He contributed to several R&D EC funded projects as MyHeart (FP6-507816), NUADU (ITEA), Psyche (FP7-247777), HeartCycle (FP7-216695), MOSAIC(FP7-ICT-2011.5.2-600914), Nevermind (H2020-689691), CAPABLE (H2020-875052), PERISCOPE (H2020-101016233), BRAINTEASER (H2020-101017598) and Spanish funded projects (ES3-CIBER-BNN, ITACA-CM S2010/BMD-2374, FIS PI13/02505). Manuel is author of ca. 30 research works in peer reviewed journals and conferences and collaborate as review editor of the IEEE Journal of Biomedical Informatics and Frontiers in Digital Health for the Connected Health section.
