
Professor Martin Cowie

Martin Cowie is Consultant Cardiologist and Executive Director of Cardiovascular Research at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London (a Division of Guy’s & St Thomas’), where he leads the heart failure service, and Professor in the School of Cardiovascular Medicine & Sciences at King’s College London. He was a Non-Executive Director and Board member of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) from 2016-2020. Professor Cowie's research interests focus on health technology assessment and delivery of efficient and effective care for patients with heart failure, with a focus on diagnostics, drugs, or devices. He also has had a longstanding interest in evaluating remote monitoring and now digital technologies in heart failure.
