Professor Peter Johnson
National Clinical Director for Cancer, NHS England and Improvement
Peter Johnson is Professor of Medical Oncology at the University of Southampton and National Clinical Director for the NHSE cancer programme. He qualified in medicine from Cambridge and St Thomas's Medical School and trained in internal medicine in London. He completed oncology training and doctoral research at St Bartholomew’s Hospital as an ICRF Clinical Research Fellow and he was a Senior Lecturer in the Leeds Cancer Centre. Peter’s research interests are in applied immunology and immunotherapy; lymphoma biology and precision medicine, and clinical trials. He has published extensively on cancer biology and treatment, on novel biomarkers and their clinical evaluation.
